Teaware (Gaiwan) For centuries, Chinese tea has been brewed in small Yixing teapots or in bowl-shaped cups called Gaiwan. Some tea connoisseurs reputedly use different pots for different types of tea as this is said to draw out the best flavor of the tea. Heighten your experience with these teaware.
I haven´t used my gaiwan yet but I´m already very fond of it. My gaiwan is actually clear and not with the greenish hue like depicted in the image (although colors may vary as stated) and it was made in Taiwan which explains a bit on the price (which I wasn´t too thrilled about), but I decided to get it after all without any regrets.
Translation of the French Review (Gavrin):
Very pleasant to use for green tea! Especially for Japanese teas since the infusion is short and that seeing the green color [of the tea leaves] is so beautiful. One regret, this cup lid needs to be a little larger. The shape of the lid is ideal for savoring the aroma.
